There are some places on the face of this Earth that you really should see before you depart. Assembling long lists of such places is nothing new. Almost every major media outlet has done that at least a time or six, but this most recent one from Huffington Post has a nice modern twist because it is an infographic, and we like that better. Basically, it’s a kind of visual bucket list of places you would do well to try and see in person during your lifetime.

Very few people get around to all of these, and some people never make it to even one, but if you’re the traveling type and up for an adventure, check out this kickin’ infographic for ideas on how and where to plan your next vacation around the world. It’s a fairly nice list comprised of all the usual suspects, such as the Egyptian pyramids and Vatican City — so maybe you’ll see some of the places you hadn’t thought much about before, too.

A dream vacation is something that you think about all the time, it’s a vacation that will allow all of your dreams to come true. Dream vacations are different varying from person to person, my dream vacation is going on a trip around the world.

I know it sounds a little far fetched, like I should join the amazing race or something but everyone has a dream, mine just happens to be a little larger than most. I guess I should start out by telling you why I want to travel the world for my dream vacation. The main reason I want to travel around the world is so I can see everything our world has to offer. We have the technology to allow us to go anywhere we desire in no more than a day’s time, so there is no stopping me. I want to see other places, people, cultures, hardships, and joys. Once I have seen these things in a number of places far away from my own sheltered home I can better understand the world that I am going to live in.

I’m not someone who would move half way around the world to experience an entirely different life, but I would love to visit and stay for several weeks in a number of locations. I want to go to all of the continents, and as many countries as possible. If I could I would go to every country in the entire world. This dream vacation is beginning to sound more of a challenge than when it started isn’t it? Well I will take this dream vacation in several small parts throughout my life. While some people have a dream vacation to a Caribbean island or a far away land filled with rolling hills and castles nestled in the mountains, I have always liked the motto, “go big or go home”. If you don’t strive for the things that you really want there is no way that you will every get to them.

When you are planning your dream vacation it’s important to think about the things that you want most out of a vacation, if you want to have an adventure or relax on the beach. What would be your dream vacation?

It’s probably tempting to Tweet or update your Facebook status everytime you take a step during your vacation away from home, posting pictures of those exciting para-sailing excursions, curving road rides on rental scooters, and the food and drinks you’re sampling along the way. Unfortunately, it’s also a good way to let possible online stalker criminals know exactly where you are — and most importantly, that you aren’t at home. When you travel anywhere in the world, you need to be aware of the importance of home security. Read on for tips that can help make your vacation a nice thing to come home from.

If your house is visibly uninhabited, you could be at higher risk of becoming a target for a burglar. You should consider paying someone to keep the yard mowed while you are away and take other steps to be sure that it seems your house is occupied. You can enlist the help of relatives and neighbors for these details that just might spare you from coming home to a burglarized house. Also have someone collect your mail and newspapers for you. Criminals check for these things.

While no burglar alarm is completely foolproof, it certainly helps secure your home. Consider looking into some kind of affordable alarm system to help deter any crime that might be in the works. Often this makes the difference in a burglar attempting a planned break in at a vacated residence or abandoning his or her plans after they notice the presence of an alarm system.

Finally, having some remote controlled lighting or even sound at night can be very helpful in making people think someone is at home. You might have certain interior lights come on in the evenings and go off at sunrise, or have a stereo system play music or the television come on and go off periodically while you’re away.

All of these tips can be a big help, so keep them in mind next time you travel! Happy vacationing.

It is very possible that you are the type of person or have at least seen the people who cannot seem to sit still when they are off on vacation. Personally, I want to do absolutely nothing when I vacation but sit on a beach with a fruity drink in my have and the sun beaming off of my skin. I know that there are people who wish the exact opposite for their travels. Some people actually travel to find adventure and excitement, and these people are what I like to call “vacationing movers and shakers.”

I like to find the easiest and most lazy ways to do things, so a busy vacation is not my cup of tea. Seriously I have the moving company LA programmed into my phone so I don’t even have to do anything physical when I want to rearrange the house. Back to the busy bodies though, what is it that they are doing on these adventure-filled vacations? Oh you would be surprised! I’m talking about swimming with sharks, climbing mountains, and dog sledding.

If those things seem to be right up your alley and you want to know where you can get in on the action, have a look at the infographic below. It shows ten travel destinations that are jam packed with things for the busiest of bodies to enjoy. The only problem is that you won’t find me at any of those places!

Although we marvel at the beauty and power of an erupting volcano you don’t want to end up being too close for comfort.

The United States has 18 volcanoes that are likely to erupt. There are many others around the world. Here are a couple of the volcanoes that are located in the United States. There are constantly eruptions taking place all over the world. the last major volcanic eruption was Mount St. Helens in 1980. Other smaller eruptions have taken place since then.

Washington:

Mount St. Helens- Mount St. Helens is located in Skamania County, Washington. Mount St. Helens is a Strato-volcano and is currently active the last time it had a major eruption was on May 19, 1980. In this eruption 230 square miles were buried under molten lava.

Mount Rainier- Mount Rainier is Strato-volcano located 54 miles from Seattle, Washington. Rainier is the tallest peak in Washington as well as the Cascades. Mount Rainier last erupted in 1825.

Glacier Peak- Glacier Peak is a Strato-volcano that is located 70 miles from Seattle, Washington. Glacier Peak is farther east than the other Washington volcanoes. The last time Glacier Peak erupted was in the 1700′s and was said to have one of the most massive volcanic eruptions ever.

Mount Baker- Mount baker is a Strato-volcano that is located in Glacier, Washington. The last time Baker erupted was in 1880.

Oregon:

Crater Lake– Crater Lake is located in Crater Lake, Oregon. The last time the volcano erupted was around 2290.

Mount Hood- Mount Hood is located near Sandy, Oregon. The last time Mount Hood erupted was in 1866. Mount hood is a Strato-volcano.

Newberry Volcano- Newberry Volcano is located near Sisters-Millican, Oregon. The last time the shield volcano erupted was around 620 AD.

South Sister- South Sister is located in Sisters-Millican, Oregon. South Sister is a Strato-volcano and last erupted sometime around 50 BC

Hawaii:

Kilauea Volcano- Kilauea is located in Kau, Hawaii. Kilauea is an active shield volcano.

Mount Loa Volcano- Mount Loa is the largest volcano towering at 13,000 feet above sea level. Loa is also located near Kau, Hawaii.

If you are looking to see the beauty of a volcano erupting there are ones that you can visit in the United States. Although you must keep in mind the danger of being near an active volcano. Take into consideration the recorded activity levels before you plan you get up close and personal with one of the wonders of nature. If you live in area that is often threatened by volcanos, I suggest buying Direct TV Home and cable bundles

For years now, the Unites States has lagged behind much of the rest of the developed world when it comes to cell phone network systems and infrastructures. In the US, cell service typically arrives via one of these frequency bands: GSM, IS-95 (CDMA), IS-136 (D-AMPS), and 3G. The nation’s two largest carriers have different networks. AT&T uses a SIM card in its phones, which has the distinct advantage of making it not only possible, but immensely convenient, to swap handsets if needs be. You just pop the SIM out of an old phone and into a replacement, and you’re off!

Verizon, on the other hand, makes it very difficult to switch phones. There are no SIM cards at all. No HD DVR. This means that if you crush your cell phone by backing over it in the driveway, you can’t just dash out to Wal-Mart, Target, or Best Buy and purchase a cheap replacement phone to use during the emergency; rather, you are stuck until you either buy and activate a new handset directly from a Verizon Wireless retail store, or from Verizon online. Expect this to be costly, and inconvenient. Do not expect to have concessions made in your favor during the wait.

The other bad thing about both carriers is the inconvenience users experience while traveling outside the United States. In other countries, the roaming charges for using other carriers’ data and cellular services, through your own domestic carrier, are cost prohibitive for most people. Europeans have long enjoyed the benefits of being able to just swap out their carriers’ SIM chips for generic, prepaid ones to use while out of their own countries. Americans have not been able to do the same thing, until today.

Now, Apple will sell its award winning iPhone 4, unlocked, in the United States. This means the phone is not locked in with any one carrier, and any compatible SIM card from anywhere in the world can be placed in the device, making it a true world phone for Americans at last.

Awesome, Apple.
